In order for an area to
be successful it has to be designed with the activities that will be carried
out within it in mind, before structures. When working with teachers
we encourage a particular thought process in order to create a successful
area.

SAFER SURFACING
-
All play areas need the quality of the surface to be taken into
consideration. For intensive use we find bark products the best
natural surface and rubber is our preferred artificial surface. Grass
and woodland floor are suitable for less intensive activities.
-
OUTDOOR CLASSROOMS, SEATING & SHADE STRUCTURES
-
Quiet seating corners, secret and teaching gardens and outdoor
classrooms are useful resources both during breaks and for outdoor teaching.
-
PENCIL FENCING
-
Pencil fencing and play panels make internal fencing more
interesting. Even steel security fencing for school boundaries
-
can be
more acceptable with a good choice of colour.
